Steve Wetzel - Director Athletic Development
With more than 20 years of experience in training and developing college and professional athletes, Steve Wetzel has implemented athletic development programs that have allowed athletes to succeed at the highest levels. Wetzel has spent 17 seasons in the National Football League (NFL) and has been associated with teams that have made the playoffs 10 times, including a Super Bowl Championship. He has trained more than 29 NFL Pro Bowl players and served as the Minnesota Vikings strength and conditioning coach for twelve years. Most recently, Wetzel was head strength and conditioning coach for the Arizona Cardinals.

Dr. Tom Sutton - Director Performance Physical Therapy, Sports Physical Therapist
Dr. Thomas Sutton brings more than 14 years of experience in orthopedics and sports rehabilitation to TEKTONIC. He has served at the senior director level for NASA and the YMCA, while creating, developing and implementing comprehensive performance lab testing for NASA test pilots, collegiate and professional athletes. From 2004-2007, Dr. Sutton served as the lead sports physical therapy specialist and worked with orthopedic, vestibular, athletic, and other sports injury-related patients at Glendale Adventist Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. Most recently, Dr. Sutton contracted and consulted with the Los Angeles Dodgers and the University of Southern California’s football/baseball programs.

Jeff M. Arthur, MD. D.A.B.A. - Team Physician
Specializing in the minimally invasive treatment and diagnostic testing of the spine and nerves, Dr. Arthur is fellowship-trained in interventional pain medicine and is certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiologists, the only pain medicine board exam endorsed by the American Board of Medical Specialties. He has more than 18 years of experience in the field and has taught as an associate professor in the department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at Texas Tech Health Science Center (prior to moving his practice to the Houston area in 1996).

Dr. Eugene L. Heiman – Orthopaedic Surgeon and Sports Medicine Specialist – Team Physician
Dr. Heiman received his undergraduate degree at the University of Vermont in 1971, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He received his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine in 1975 and completed his one-year internship at the University of Oregon Health Science Center and one-year of residency in general surgery at Boston University Medical Center. His orthopaedic residency was completed at George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, DC.

Lauren Kelley MS, RD, LD - Sports Nutritionist
Lauren Kelley is a registered, licensed dietitian with in-depth experience in several areas of nutrition. In 1999, Kelley received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio, with a degree in the fields of health and science. Shortly after, Kelley received a second Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition from the University of Houston in 2002. She then gained her master’s degree in Nutritional Science at Texas Woman’s University in Houston, Texas.
